His name is only whispered now — part warrior, part scholar, full weeb.
Decades ago, a British expat known only by his Society codename, “Shogun-tan,” traveled to the outskirts of Kyoto in search of the ultimate synthesis between samurai philosophy and anime aesthetics. Some say he was chasing enlightenment. Others say he was chasing a lost Blu-ray. Either way, he vanished.
Your mission: follow his trail.
Equipped with fragments of old Society reports, you’ll hike the remote paths he once walked, search for inscriptions, sketches, or ramen receipts that might reveal what became of him. He was a legend to the RSBW — a founder of the old ways. If you find even a trace of his existence, it could change the narrative forever.
Tread carefully. This path is sacred. And somewhere in the moss and mist... he might still be watching.
To start this mission, you need to make your way to Arashiyama Takao Parkway (roughly an hour journey from Kyoto central on bus). From there, you can follow the trail linked below. Keep an eye out for any wildlife, rumour has it there's bears and even wild monkeys in these forests!
There's a few temples which you can explore at the start of the hike.
